We recommend this scar cream to all of our patients whether they’re cosmetic or trauma patients from the E.R. BioCorneum is the only FDA cleared topical, silicone scar treatment with SPF. We advise patients to use it twice a day for at least six months for the best results. Although the scar won’t be erased, the bioCorneum will reduce the redness and discoloration of the scar, soften and flatten raised scars, and overall improve the appearance of the scar. When using the scar cream, you only need to use a very small amount. Apply a thin layer to the scar while massaging the area with some pressure to help break up the scar tissue. If it takes longer than a few minutes to dry, you are probably using too much – one bottle will last you three to six months.
