Its March, which means spring and summer are just around the corner. That means shorts, bathing suits, short sleeve shirts- which also means more shaving, tweezing, and waxing. But it doesnt have to! We can avoid these irritating, repetitive and uncomfortable hair-removal processes by switching to laser hair removal in Ashburn, VA.
Laser hair removal consist of using a laser to direct focused heat at the hair follicle. The pigment of the hair in the follicle also helps focus the laser. The heat then destroys the follicle, inhibiting or reducing its ability to grow hair. Laser hair removal works best on clients with light skin and dark, coarse hair. If you have light-colored hair or darker skin, it will be more difficult for the laser to target the hair follicles.

You Can Get it Almost Anywhere
Laser hair removal can be used to treat hair growth on almost any area of the body. The most common areas for treatment are the bikini area, underarms, legs, arms, and the face. The pulse of the laser takes only a fraction of a second, so treatments can be very quick. Small areas like the underarms may only take 15 minutes.

Results Are Long-Lasting
Laser hair removal treatments must be repeated to get permanent or semi-permanent results. After about three to five treatments, most clients will see long-term results. You may need to come back periodically after that for a short maintenance treatment.

Preparing for the Treatment
Laser hair removal treatments target the root of the hair follicle, so its a good idea to avoid waxing or tweezing about six weeks before the treatment. Waxing and tweezing remove the root, so avoiding those practices will give the laser something to focus on during treatment. You will also need to avoid the sun and tanning so your skin is as light as possible for the hair removal.

The Treatment Itself
You may need to wear eye protection during the treatment. The esthetician may shave or trim the area to be treated, to allow the laser easier access to the hair root. You might feel a slight stinging as the laser pulses. Afterwards, the esthetician may apply a cooling cream or an ice pack to relieve any discomfort.
