Chin Implants Considered

Chin implants involve inserting a structure over your chin in order to round it out and strengthen it.

The structure can be made from bone, fat, silicon, or any number of other materials, depending on your goals and budget. To perform this procedure, we rely on the following steps:

  1. Anesthesia – We apply local anesthesia to numb the area, allowing you to receive the augmentation without pain.
  2. Incision – We make a cut inside your mouth or directly under your chin, giving us an opening in which to insert the implant.
  3. Insertion – We place the implant over the chin, screwing or stitching it into the bone so it remains firmly in place.
  4. Suturing – We close the opening in your mouth or chin with sutures, taking care to minimize the potential for scarring.

Because they involve anesthesia and skin incisions, chin implants carry the same risks as other forms of surgery. Through consultation, we take into account your entire health history and make sure augmentation is safe for you.

An Analysis of Cheek Augmentation

Augmenting your cheeks is similar to augmenting your chin, and typically involves numbing the area and then inserting an implant made from fat, bone, or synthetic materials.

It may also require moving some of your cheekbones around in order to enhance the shape and make room for the implant. The goal is usually to draw attention to your cheeks, allowing them to play a more prominent role in your face.

Hyaluronic fillers can also be used to augment your cheeks, so you should consider them as well if you are thinking about implants. Implants have the advantage of being permanent, so you will not have to repeat the procedure. Fillers, however, are less invasive, and if you don’t end up liking the way they look, the effects will eventually go away. NOVA Plastic Surgery is happy to help you decide, giving you all the information you need to find the procedure that is right for you.

Plastic surgery is always a personal matter, and no one procedure or look is right for every man. NOVA’s goal is not to tell you how you should look, but rather to give you in-depth information and a wide range of options if you do decide to make a change. What Is Sculptra® Aesthetic?

Sculptra® Aesthetic is a revolutionary dermal filler that is FDA approved to smooth wrinkles and restore lost volume in various areas of the face, such as the cheeks and under the eyes.

While there are many dermal fillers available to patients (such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®), these fillers only offer short-term correction to volume loss. These other fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which attracts and retains moisture in the skin; however, Sculptra® Aesthetic is made of poly-L-lactic acid.

Poly-L-lactic acid actively stimulates collagen production in your skin instead of simply filling the skin with HA. This is important because collagen is responsible for the overall health, strength, elasticity, and suppleness of your skin.

The other benefit of Sculptra® Aesthetic is that your results will last longer than other dermal fillers because of the increased collagen production.
