PRF Facial Rejuvenation

“Facial rejuvenation” and “organic” are terms one would not typically expect to be used together. However, with the advancement of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) use in the cosmetic industry, we can now offer a treatment that gives a more youthful appearance to the skin without invasive surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic, or filler.

Facial Rejuvenation With Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

While using PRF cosmetically is relatively new, it has been used for years in orthopedics and reconstructive surgery. The platelet-rich fibrin has high concentrations of platelets and growth factors that stimulate stem cells, helping your body regenerate and heal at a faster rate. PRF injections also aid in remodeling the extracellular matrix and induce the synthesis of collagen, which is essential for skin rejuvenation.

PRF Facial Rejuvenation Benefits

PRF for facial rejuvenation can improve a variety of cosmetic concerns organically using a unique mixture derived from a patient’s own blood in areas that can often be difficult to treat with other non-surgical options.

Platelet-rich fibrin improves overall skin texture, decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and plumps areas that often become hollow with age (such as under-eye grooves and cheeks). PRF can also improve the appearance of acne scars and decrease signs of aging in the neck and hands. The PRF facial can be used on its own or combined with laser, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and/or fillers.

PRF Facial Rejuvenation Results

Unlike filler, PRF Facial Rejuvenation organically stimulates your body’s collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as plump areas that have lost volume and started to look hollow. While it takes about three months to see the full effects of collagen regeneration, most patients notice an improvement in their skin appearance and texture within the first month after treatment.

Having 2-3 treatments spaced at eight-week intervals is recommended for optimal skin renewal. The results of PRF Facial Rejuvenation are long-lasting, with most patients receiving touch-up treatments at one year to extend their results.

If patients are looking for a more immediate improvement, we can combine the benefits of the PRF Facial Rejuvenation with BOTOX® Cosmetic, fillers, and laser skin resurfacing.

PRF Facial Rejuvenation Risks and Recovery

PRF Facial Rejuvenation is one of the lowest-risk treatments available for improving the signs of mild to moderate aging.

Because the treatment involves injecting a substance sourced from your own body, it eliminates the risk of allergic reactions, skin sensitivity, and infection that may occur with other anti-aging procedures.

Mild side effects include injection site bruising, swelling, or redness, but usually resolve within a week of the procedure, and may be safely concealed with make-up. We often recommend you begin taking Arnica, a homeopathic medication that will naturally decrease bruising and swelling following your PRF session.

PRF Facial Rejuvenation is an effective, organic, anti-aging treatment used to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, restore volume to hollowed-out areas under the eyes and cheeks, and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Unlike BOTOX® Cosmetic and filler, PRF stimulates your own body processes to replace collagen, offering a long-term solution for anti-aging.
