Thread Lift: Achieve Facelift Results with This Lunchtime Procedure

Want a way to correct sagging facial skin without the expense of a facelift surgery?

Introducing the Thread Lift at NOVA Plastic Surgery, which is basically the facelift’s less-invasive younger sister.

Everyone’s face has a natural V-shape before the effects of environmental and physical factors lead to volume loss and skin laxity; turning your V-shape into an A-shape. Over time, this V-shape is lost behind loose sagging skin, because of sun exposure, gravity, diet, and exercise. Even with preventative measures, genetics can also play a role into how your skin ages. With cosmetic surgeries and procedures, we can help you maintain or recreate this V-shape and retain a youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

In the aesthetic world, there are many procedures, products, and services that can help treat or prevent signs of aging. For instance, here at NOVA Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of treatments, such as Botox, filler, and laser resurfacing treatments that can address most skin and body concerns. However, there is no treatment that is non-invasive and non-surgical that can create the true lifting effect that many patients aspire to gain. Enter the Thread Lift procedure, offered by NOVA Plastic Surgery, as a solution to this gap in cosmetic treatments for restoring the “V” face shape. The Thread Lift is a procedure that does not require surgery and utilizes absorbable sutures, called NovaThreads, to lift and smooth the surface of the skin.

What Are NovaThreads?

NovaThreads are hypodermic needles pre-loaded with a PDO absorbable suture. These sutures are one of the safest materials to implant in the body and are used in a variety of surgical specialties. They are absorbed within 4 to 6 months and do not leave any scar tissue behind. These threads stimulate collagen production and will continue to hold this new skin structure for another 12 to 15 months.

What Is A Thread Lift Procedure?

A Thread Lift procedure is a facelift alternative to treating minor facial sagging. This treatment is less invasive than the traditional facelift since it involves no cuts or incisions and is performed with injections. With just injections, this means you will achieve instant skin tightening and lifting with little to no downtime.

The reason the Thread Lift is considered a lunchtime procedure is because it can be completed in as little as one to two hours and often without anesthesia. The Thread Lift creates a lifting effect by injecting the NovaThreads sutures under the skin’s surface in the targeted treatment areas. A Thread Lift can be performed in many areas of the face and body, but is most effective around the cheeks, jaw, and neck. These threads attach to the skin and are then pulled back to discreetly hold the repositioned skin and facial tissue in place after the procedure.

Since this procedure is performed under local anesthesia, patients experience little to no pain or discomfort. Also, because patients remain fully conscious during the procedure, they can approve the look of the Thread Lift as the physician works. To complete the procedure, the threads are knotted and hidden within the skin, so that any scarring is virtually invisible. Immediately after the procedure, the treated areas will be lifted slightly, removing any sagging and giving the patient a lifted, more youthful appearance.

Am I a good candidate for a Thread Lift?

For patients considering the Thread Lift procedure, the best candidates are those in their 30s to 60s who are experiencing early signs of aging, such as minor sagging in the face or neck. However, those with excessively loose skin in facial areas might benefit more from a facelift surgery. A Thread Lift procedure is great for patients whose signs of aging are minimal and want to make cosmetic enhancements without the need for scarring, downtime, and other potential effects after more intensive surgical procedures.
